Here's the podium analysis...


I went back 6 years again. The 4th place finishers were Iowa (2019), Michigan (2018), Iowa (2017), Virginia Tech (2016), Missouri (2015), and Iowa (2014).

On average, the 4th place team had 1 wrestler either win or come in 2nd and then another 4-5 All Americans. We were the only team to come in 4th and not have a finalist, but we had 6 AAs. I did no analysis of teams coming in 2nd or 3rd place.

Anyway, based off the previous 6 years you'd think we'd have a really good shot at a podium finish with 1 finalist and 5 AAs. Give me Lewis and Bolen in the finals + 3 more AAs (Latona, Myers, and Andonian); and we should be right there.
